My vacation to Kauai!

In the beginning of this year, I had the privilege of flying to Hawaii to photograph Adrian & Christian's incredible wedding! Well, before their wedding, Brisa and I had our first vacation since our honeymoon three and a half years ago. And it was awesome! We relaxed, we explored, we ate delicious food, we went on an epic doorless helicopter ride, we went zip lining, we went to a luau, but most importantly we spent more time together than we have in years. Vacations are never overrated. If you haven't been on a vacation in a while, do it for your marriage and do it for yourself. Trust me, you'll thank me afterwards.

For those of you who missed it, here are my artsy-fartsy images from the trip - Hawaii Images for Photography for a Cause 2011! =)

Before our Jack Harter Helicopter ride!

A little self-portrait action

This is where we stayed on Kauai. Our place was on the outcropping at the top of the photo. It. was. incredible.

As we were heading back to the airport, our pilot, Marty, performed an amazing swooping dive. I now, more than ever, want to learn how to fly helicopters. Seriously.

Here we are with Marty!

If you are a photographer, this should sound familiar. We made a conscientious effort to have our photo taken whenever we could because we really don't have too many photos together.

I was prolonging dinner time by taking numerous sunset photographs and the wifey wasn't very happy, but she was supportive and just hung out for a while. Isn't she beautiful?

Yes, I'm super cheesy.

The next morning we went zip-lining at Princeville Ranch Adventures!

Here we are with our guides

The last zipline was 1200 feet long AND side by side! So one of our awesome guides was able to take a few photos of us as we started!

This was the best pineapple I have ever eaten in my life. True story. Oh, and this was the view from our room. =)

We went to the Smith Family Garden Luau and it was a perfect way to end our trip!

The luau begins.

The original light painters.

This guy absolutely KILLED it to finish the show!
