Week Whatever - Our newest household item

I realize that I haven't been the most committed to the 52 week photo project that I am participating in with a few fellow photographers, but sometimes life just gets in the way :) So, a week late, here is our newest household item.

After months of research and shopping in the Bay Area, Southern California, the greater Washington, D.C and all through the midwest, we were finally able to locate the car that we wanted with all of the features that we wanted! Unfortunately (for me), the color is a metallic red which I know is just going to be a magnet for speeding tickets! Nonetheless, the wife LOVES it and it truly is a ton of fun to drive! Zoom-Zoom (as they say at Mazda)! Even though it took a little more than expected to bring it home, it has been well worth it and we could not be more ecstatic!

The Rowe Family - Joy Session

Recently had the opportunity to take some anniversary pictures of the Rowe family. After years of marriage, Ben and Carrie are still very much in love. Based on their playful interactions and the way they smile at each other, they truly exemplify the amazement and joy of marriage!

My favorite color

I am super excited to be apart of the organization Operation Love which matches photographers with the military. For any homecomings, deployments or just patriotic sessions, La Brisa Photography will be there and provide a free album for the soldier and their family has the opportunity to buy the CD of all the images.

This past week, I received a call regarding a homecoming at the Manhattan airport. unfortunately it was delayed until 1:30 in the morning and the family said that I did not need to go. He had been deployed for 7 months and I really wanted to be there for that family and so I headed out to the airport around 12:45am to be sure I had enough time to catch everything going on. When I arrived at the airport, it was completely deserted. I just assumed people would come when the flight is about to land, but as I waited and waited, nobody ever came. So after waiting until about 1:40am and confirming with the Kansas City Airport that the flight had never departed, I headed home.

In the meantime, I was able to take a few pictures of the deserted airport (let me know if you are ever interested a fun airport session) and found a sign that represented my favorite color: blue. I, especially, love the dark navy-ish blue and throughout the entire process, I learned how valuable it is to make the best of any situation :)

Things that make my life easier

So I am a little late in posting this, but the things that make my life easier are (in a particular order) my wife and my dog, Paz. My wife has seen me through so much and has always supported me through everything. On the other hand, Paz, who is purposely slightly out of focus, because although she has not had the same impact as my wife, Paz was with me during an interesting transitional period of my life and without her, I would have no idea where I would be today. Without the two of them, my life direction could be drastically different than it is today!
