Sandy - Senior Portraits by Brandi!

Talk about a blonde bombshell!! I had the pleasure of meeting Sandy for her senior portraits out at Pillsbury on a chilly fall day. She and her mom were organized with an entire stock of outfit options and jewelry, it made the shoot absolutely awesome with fabulosity!

Sandy's killer eyes and bubbly smile were great focal points for the session and her natural ability to strike a pose made it easy to direct her. After working our way through the trees we ended up in the water...where else are you gonna go when you're at Pillsbury. Sandy fought the icy water for a few quick shots and that's when we decided to call it a day. We continued a few days later out at the 177 outlook over Konza so Sandy could pose with some um "unique" guests...her pet snakes made it to the shoot for the sunset and boy did they make it exciting for me!  With such natural beauty, Sandy's photos really popped and I was just happy to be a part of it all!

Thank you Sandy for a great session! Best of luck in Florida!! BTW, sorry gentlemen, but this gorgeous, once in a lifetime lady is off the market. She's currently dating one of La Brisa's other 2010 seniors, Max! And we are happy to have them both! :)

My Nephew's 1st Haircut!

Over this past weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting my sister, brother-in-law and adorable nephew, Matthias and helped them celebrate the momentous occasion of Matty's 1st haircut! I'm super happy to share with you a quick video of the event. I can't believe how quickly he is growing up! By the way, most of the laughing you hear in the video is from me! :)

Christmas Party!

 My wife works a lot. She works harder than I will ever in my life. Simply, she is amazing. At the age of 5, she knew exactly what she wanted to do and she is doing it. How awesome is that? Anyways, recently her company had their annual Christmas party at the beautiful Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and luckily, she brought me along as her date! I didn't spend too much time taking photos, but I wanted to share a few with all of you! Enjoy!

Laura & Jake - Sneak Peek! :)

 For our last wedding of 2009, Brandi and I were ecstatic to meet up in Kansas City and photograph Laura and Jake's unbelievable celebration! Laura was definitely the calmest and most relaxed bride we have ever had! I will write up a full post on their amazing day soon, but I wanted to showcase a few teasers through this video! Enjoy! :)

Derek - Senior Portraits by Brandi!

Paint ball guns, brick walls and freezing temperatures...that's all you really need for a good time, right? Well, that's all Derek needed to rock out his senior portraits! If I learned anything on this shoot, it was to pack gloves!! Derek, his mom, his sister and I started out on the railroad tracks where it was apparent that the sun did not want to cooperate with us; nonetheless, Derek toughed it out and I love the dedication he had for this shoot! 

Derek's passion for paintball gave me some great inspiration as he pulled off great stoic poses. And the ironic vandalism that preceded us at our location couldn't have been set up more perfectly. Paintball splatters were everywhere; however, no trigger was pulled from our party! We headed to the old stadium for a few shots until we couldn't bear the cold any longer! The next day just happened to be Derek's K-State college visit so it was convenient to reschedule! We started right where we left off and I couldn't be happier for the pause in between the sessions. Rarely do I have a chance to take photos, stop and assess my strengths and weaknesses and then continue the shoot the next day. We decided to continue on the back side of Aggieville for more great paintball photos. I would have to say I am partial to these overall because I felt like Derek was in his element with his gear in place and his game face on!

We finished off with some more formal type shots and some great laughs induced by mom. I wasn't sure I was going to get it out of him! Thanks Derek, Freda and Amber for sticking out the cold, I truly hope you love the photos1

Streets of New York

I put together a short slideshow of a few pictures that I have taken since I moved to New York. One of the most amazing things about this city is the culture. Every where you go, you heard people speaking languages from all over the world. Within a 5 minute walk from my apartment, I can try 20 different ethnic foods. Over the next few months, I plan on really taking advantage of my time here to explore, photograph and enjoy all of the splendors of this amazing city!

The Wong Family by Chris

On a delightfully pleasant evening in Maryland, I had the absolute pleasure in spending a little bit of time with the Wong family. They were so gracious with their time and hospitality and with a daughter as cute as theirs, it was definitely hard to leave!

After inviting me into their home, I took a few candids and then we ventured out to this beautiful park area behind their backyard. Seriously, it is a photographer's delight! With a long grassy shoot and trees and playgrounds, I could have taken a billion pictures there. Luckily, for the Wongs, I showed some self-restraint :) Then to top it off, apparently deer run wild throughout the area too! Unfortunately, we did not see any, but we took plenty of time to avoid their friendly deposits as we walked around :)

Even better was the fact that GRANDPA had just arrived earlier in the day and so we definitely had to include him on the shoot as well! We had a wonderful time playing on the swings! Then, I grabbed the parents for a few quick shots in the middle of the beautiful field! And, can I just ask, how cute are these two? They act like they have just fallen in love with each other!

Someday, I hope to own a home just like the Wong family! What a beautiful and perfect place to raise a family! Thank you again so much for having me take your family photos! Take a few minutes to click on their slideshow below too! :)

The Olsen Family by Brandi

 He is back and cuter than ever!!! I had the pleasure of capturing more adorable moments of the Olsen family. Back in May, Chris had a session with Luke, Jennifer and Keaton and then four months later, it was my turn! It definitely wasn't hard to make this family look good...as Chris put it "they could be soap opera stars!" and he couldn't be more right!!

This time we ventured onto the K-State campus for some fabulous shots! With the perfect amount of sun rays peeking through we were able to get some great intimate shots. The combination of mom and dad's great smiles and Keaton's amazing brown eyes made it really happy to love the shots I was taking (I hope they do too)!

After leaving K-State, we were able to get a few silhouette shots at the overlook on 177 to finish up the evening. I was able to pry Keaton out of mom and dad's arms to get a few shots of the adorable couple...let me repeat ADORABLE COUPLE!!!

You may have seen a black and white version of one of their shots at Commerce Bank in the student union at K-State, the Olsen family graciously allowed us to feature their beautiful family during Commerce Bank's Small Business Appreciation month!
