Week 8: On the Road

This weekend my wife and I had the opportunity to visit Kansas City with our good friends, the Barretts. We had an amazing time shopping and eating at the Melting Pot! In the heart of Kansas City, the Plaza is a huge tourist attraction and I have never seen so many gorgeous and beautiful homes in my life than on Ward Parkway.

Week 7: Angles

For my week 7 project, I recently re-discovered my prime lens. For whatever reason, I ignored it in my bag of lenses because I felt that it lacked in quality, but lately, I have been using it more and more and realize how much I love this little lens! In our house, we seem to be pet-sitting every weekend! And this weekend, we are watching over the very love-able Russ! A Norwich/Corgi mix, he's a fun little guy with a face of a senior citizen! During one of the few times where we has settled down to rest, I went paparazzi style on him and took the following shots!

The Howells - Joy Session

Recently, I had another wonderful opportunity to hang out with the Howells family again and we had a blast! Riana is the sweetest little girl with the most piercing blue eyes you will ever see! She was just so curious in every little thing and it awesome following her around and seeing life from the perspective of a two year old :) A wonderful and generous family, I wish them nothing but the best!

Botanical

For this week's project, the topic was botanical. We are in the midst of winter. There was a high of 19 degrees today or something ridiculous like that. I've been trying to think of what I botanical-esque thing I could shoot this entire week, when I realized that sitting in our kitchen is a poinsettia that our friend gave us before Christmas that is still alive and going strong without much help from us! Life is amazing in that it forces us to adapt in foreign environments and less than ideal conditions and yet we survive.

Week 5: Sports

After taking a week to honor Maxie, it's time to start up the 52 Weeks of Awesomeness again.

Growing up, I loved playing sports. I played anything and everything that I could (except for roller skating and skateboarding - i have no balance)! One of the sports that I've played and loved throughout middle school, high school, college and now is ultimate frisbee. All you need is a few people and an open field and you can get the best workout and have a ton of fun! The best thing about ultimate is that the players are usually some of the coolest and most laid back people you will ever meet!
