Every day has been so different for me. I want to thank everyone involved with making this week exceptionally great!
Starting with day 1: Mr. Mussack and I have decided to live our lives healthier than ever before. We don't consider it a diet or a fad, but a life change. I dusted off my Vibrams and started running again, the Georgia weather will do that to you! (I found later in the week that Southern California will too!)
Day 2: I was in North Carolina, visiting a good friend of mine. Kali is 14 weeks pregnant and is dealing with a relentless case of Hypermesis Gravidarum. It keeps her laid up and I was happy to finally visit since it is only a four hour drive. On day two I took her to the ER, she's okay now, she just needs to DRINK MORE WATER. LJ, this is a public announcement, no excuses.
Day 3: I arrived home to cardboard boxes containing our new gym! Mr. Mussack and I spent day three assembling all of our boxing equipment. I am so incredibly excited to continue boxing, but I miss KO so much!
Day 4: SInce we went without furniture for a good two weeks, I found many projects to start around the new cottage. I wanted an original piece for our new living room and these are the finishing steps of what I came up with.
Day 5: Travel started at 2 AM in Augusta, drove to Atlanta to catch a 7AM flight to Denver, then a 10 AM flight to San Diego. A bit tired when I arrived but so incredibly blessed to visit.
Day 6: I ventured out into Pacific Beach to find a quiet spot to edit. Couldn't have found better than Cafe 976, four words: ACAI BOWLS and HONEY. Boom.
Day 7: Revisited my favorite sushi restaurant...EVER. Reggae music and sake capped off my week.
good food, great friends, a husband who i adore. what an incredible week.
What an absolutely incredible week. Brisa and I have been soooo looking forward to this week because we were going on vacation to Colorado with two of our best friends, Jenna and Travis! The plan was to leave Saturday, but due to some airport craziness, we missed our flight and ended up with a 9 hour delay at the Houston airport. When we finally boarded our 9pm flight (pic 1), we were so relieved to just be GOING somewhere. After arriving in Tucson, we had a 6 hour overnight stay at the delightful airport before our 5:30am flight to Denver (pic 2). Doesn't Brisa look amazing for being awake 24 straight hours? We finally started on our vacation after spending 17 of the previous 24 hours in airports. It was ridiculous. Thankfully, our friends picked us up from the airport and drove us to our home away from home (pic 3) for the rest of the week! Neither Brisa nor I had ever been to Breckenridge before and so we were super excited to explore the area (after much needed naps!). The following day, while exploring the ski area of Breckenridge, Brisa and I went on the Goldrunner Coaster (pic 4) which was absolutely awesome! Then, we journeyed out to Vail, Colorado to see the beautiful villages, people and also where we had a little cuddling time (pic 5). Finally, on our last day in Breckenridge, we posed for a quick photo (pic 6) to show how happy we have been with our vacation. Yes, every photo has been of Brisa and me because quite frankly, we have spent more time together this week since our trip to Hawaii more than a year ago. And it was amazing. I love us.
As a photographer, sometime you need to work on things outside of your normal purview and this project is going to help us (and you) challenge, grow and creatively develop your photography as a whole. Weekly for the next year, we will be sharing our images with you here!
For those of you interested in participating, PLEASE join us! The more the merrier! You definitely do not need to be a professional photographer, this is something you can easily do with your point and shoot, cell phone, ipad, etc. You can comment with a link to your image here on our blog or on our La Brisa fan page or you can tag La Brisa Photography in your image on your own FB page or use the hashtag #52WoA on twitter that way we can share your efforts with everyone else!
