Bianca | Style Session APW | Haleiwa, HI | b

Hosting La Brisa Aspiring Photographer Workshops (APW) have given me the opportunity to meet new friends in the industry, discover new locations on Oahu and of course, learn new ways to develop my craft. I know that this is only the second APW in Hawaii, but I feel incredibly fortunate to have this opportunity. Thank you, everyone for attending and learning with me. And a special thanks to our model, Miss Bianca. She was incredibly sweet, and gracious enough to allow seven photographers buzz around her. The next APW will be in March! Be on the lookout for more details!

Thank you to all of the participants who attended! I hope you were able to learn something and that this APW was helpful! If you are interested in future La Brisa APWs, please request to join our FB group, HERE. APWs are Aspiring Photographer Workshops for photographers of any skill level/experience that we host for free.

52WoA: Week 30 - Overcome Your Fear

As a photographer, sometime you need to work on things outside of your normal purview and this project is going to help us (and you) challenge, grow and creatively develop your photography as a whole. Weekly for the next year, we will be sharing our images with you here!

For those of you interested in participating, PLEASE join us! The more the merrier! You definitely do not need to be a professional photographer, this is something you can easily do with your point and shoot, cell phone, ipad, etc. You can comment with a link to your image here on our blog or on our La Brisa fan page or you can tag La Brisa Photography in your image on your own FB page or use the hashtag #52WoA on twitter that way we can share your efforts with everyone else! If you are interested in joining our La Brisa Aspiring Photographer Workshop group on FB, please request to join as we will also be sharing our images there too.

Next Wednesday, March 6th, Week 30: “MINIMALISM” will be due. The image must be created between today and March 6th. Good luck!

Here are our Week 30 – “OVERCOME YOUR FEAR” images!

I have a deep-seated and irrational fear of Jeepers Creepers...I thought perhaps with a lot of wine I could overcome my fear. A lot of wine and a little movie later...I made an agreement with myself that some fears are best left un-overcome.

conquering fears every day here.

My biggest fear is not being able to provide and support my wife. Almost six years later, happy to admit that we are still married (happily on most days) and I have been rather successful in battling my biggest fear.

Rebecca & Matt | Wedding | Houston, TX | Chris & autumn

Happy Wednesday everyone! I am super excited to share Rebecca and Matt's gorgeous Houston wedding with you today! autumn flew in from Manhattan, KS to photograph their ridiculously incredible wedding. They had everything planned out exquisitely from the delicious rehearsal dinner through their beautiful confetti waterfall exit. Rebecca and Matt radiantly glowed throughout their day and it was such a privilege for autumn and I to experience.

Here is what Rebecca had to say about her La Brisa experience via www.weddingwire.com/labrisaphotography:
"I met Chris at a friend's bridal shower, knowing we would be planning a wedding in the near future. I found it amazing how he was able to be in a room with so many women, and even more amazing when I saw the pictures he took.

So I decided to look through his portfolio and knew that La Brisa was the company we wanted for the wedding. Chris met up with us a few times before the wedding (engagement and bridal portraits) and we had so much fun taking pictures with him. He wasn't putting us in awkward poses; he just wanted us to be relaxed. Upon receiving photos, he did not bombard us with multiple shots of the same frame. He chooses great images, and we were able to decide our favorites (some were hard to choose).

Autumn was at the wedding and she worked just as professionally as Chris. All of my friends had amazing reviews of Chris and Autumn. La Brisa Photography is awesome and I strongly recommend them for any event. You won’t be disappointed."

Thank you again so much for trusting La Brisa Photography to photograph your incredible day! You can view more of their images on the La Brisa Photography Facebook page by going to Rebecca & Matt | Wedding | Houston, TX | Chris & autumn

Matt and his buddies started their day at TopGolf Houston West which is absolutely awesome, by the way.

While the ladies were getting pampered at Highland Salon and Spa...

Rebecca made sure the ladies were wearing awesome recognizable tops so that everyone would be easy to find. What a brilliant idea, right?

My favorite wedding moment is the first embrace after the ceremony. Pure unadulterated joy.
